Purpose: The Parenting Talks at Christ the King are designed to help you raise Catholic kids in a modern world. You are not alone in the important task of raising your children! We are a Church community and we are here to support one another!

Theme: This year, our 4-part Parenting Talk Series is on Theology of the Body. These talks will help you understand how to teach Theology of the Body related topics to your children, based on their age.

Speaker: We are thrilled to host Monica Ashour as our Speaker. Monica is the founder and President of TOBET, a prophetic organization dedicated to promoting God’s design for the human person through our bodies. TOBET is a fantastic resource that is right in our backyard (Irving!).

General Schedule:

5:30pm- Dinner is available in the Parish Center (it will be available for the duration of the event, so you can either attend before or after the talk)

5:45pm- Childcare Drop off Opens at School Cafeteria (enter through Parish Center)

6:00pm to 6:45pm:- Talk for Parents of Littles & Elementary in Parish Center

6:45pm to 7:15pm: Dinner Available for All in Parish Center

7:00pm- Childcare for 2nd shift opens

7:15pm to 8:00pm: Talk for Parents of Middle & High School Students in Parish Center

8:15pm: All Childcare Closed

Contact Katie Aguilar, Kaguilar@ctkdallas.org, with any questions.

Unique Features of this Event

  • TWO talks in ONE Evening: Why? The 1st 45 minute talk is dedicated to parents of littles through elementary school-aged children. The 2nd is dedicated to parents of middle and high school-aged children. As these age groups are parented very differently, the talks will be tailored to the specific age group. If you have a child in both categories, please feel free to attend both. The speaker will be attentive to minimize repetitive content.

  • Childcare: We have heard you! Many have noted that providing childcare during events would make them more accessible for parents and families. All childcare will take place in the school cafeteria, enter through the Parish Center.

  • Dinner: Going out on a weeknight can be tough. We’re hoping that providing dinner makes it easier for you. Dinner is available to all and will run from 5:30pm until the conclusion of the event.

Family Workshop: "The Fall Triduum", All Hallow's Eve, All Saints' Day, & All Souls

The Triduum of the Fall: All Hallows’ Eve, All Saints’ Day, & All Souls

What are Family Workshops?

We want to help you live your faith at home, or in other words, we want to support your “domestic church”. The book “Living the Seasons” has been popularized within the niche Catholic market space as families have discovered its simple yet beautiful suggestions for bringing the liturgical calendar to life in their homes. And lucky us, we have author, Augusta D’Ambrosio living here in Dallas! Augusta will be leading these workshops to help our families prepare for, celebrate, and participate in the liturgical seasons of the Church.

Event is located in the school cafeteria. The entrance is off of Colgate. You will see signs.

    • Inside Community Center, 2nd Floor Youth Room: High School Area with Mario Kart & Bahama Bucks

  • **Mary’s Meals Fundraiser**

    • Three full “square meals” a day is a given for us, but for millions of children across the globe, hunger is daily reality and threat. Mary’s Meals is putting the Gospel into action, already feeding 2.6 million children in their place of education. Not only does this provide for their most urgent needs, but it adds incentive to receive education which can provide an escape from poverty.

    • The Mary’s Meals Chore Challenge: Every child who attends the CTK Kick Off is asked to meet the challenge of bringing $25.20 (of their own money!) to the Mary’s Meals table in the Community Center. $25.20 is all it takes to feed a child in their place of education for an ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR!

      • Watch this video with your children to teach them about Mary’s Meals. (2 mins 23 seconds)

      • Determine how your child will raise the money: Wash the car, take care of the dishes for the week, babysit the siblings for date night. The point is to do something EXTRA. A donation from a place of sacrifice is a meaningful way to learn the value of taking care of one another.

      • Put the money in an envelop with your last name and amount on the outside.

      • Visit the Mary’s Meals table at the CTK Kick Off to turn in your donations and receive a sticker of thanks for your donation!
