As Christians, we are called to worship and to serve. Neither is optional in our lives, as it is through service that our Faith becomes active, and we prepare our way for heaven. This to our neighbor or service to the mystical body of Christ both takes place at Christ the King.
The Society of Saint Vincent De Paul
Founded in 1833, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide organization of lay Catholics, following Christ’s call to serve the poor, the suffering, and the deprived. Our founding activity, still practiced today, is the Home Visit. Through these visits, Vincentian members establish personal relationships with our neighbors in need, not only providing material assistance such as rent, utilities, food, or clothing, but also offering friendship, understanding, and prayer.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is a proven, caring outreach ministry that trains, supervises, and supports the lay faithful to provide one-to-one, confidential, Christ-centered care to others in the community who are experiencing life difficulties.
Over the past fifty years, the organization has grown to over 14,000 congregations in over 30 countries with over 600,000 trained Stephen Ministers. Christ the King enrolled in the program in 2026 and is starting our first class of lay members of our parish to serve as Stephen Ministers who will listen, understand, accept, and pray for and with care receivers who are working through a difficult time in life.
